Hello, Everyone...Welcome to my home page! It's very nice of you to visit me . . . Let me tell you a little bit about me and my life. I recently graduated from Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon. I received an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Computer User Support. I am currently working two part-time jobs. One is working as a Computer Technician up at Lane Community College. My other job is doing market research surveys over the telephone.... I love the first job, and the second one has helped me feed myself all through school, so I'm happy about that. I would really like a full-time position as a computer technician and if you looking for an enthusiatic, dedicated computer technician, here is my resume .
My Background
I was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and moved to Oregon when I was
21 years old. My parents still live back in Iowa, but we keep in touch regularly,
using email. I haven't been back for quite a while, but I am sure hoping
to get back there soon. It still seems like home to me and I miss seeing
my folks. Of course, I am only thinking of visiting...I love Oregon too much
to leave for good. That is, unless I found a really good job somewhere...I
would leave Oregon for a good job!! My mother's maiden name is Knight. One
of my uncles has been working on our family history
and has posted it on the web. I think it's pretty cool. I learned a lot about my family by visiting the site.
My Interests
I currently have 7 peach-faced lovebirds and I spend a lot of
time keeping them happy. I have a mated pair, and they really love each other.
They have presented me with many babies, most of which I have found homes
for. Of course, I had to keep some of them... When I have the time, I enjoy doing
crossword puzzles and learning to play my fiddle. I love to watch movies (not
the old ones, though) and I love to read. I also like to play
on my computer. I made a web page a while ago, listing some of my favorite
links for Computer Support Resources
. Of course, bear in mind it still needs a lot of work. You can check out my term paper
on Voice over Internet Protocol. That's one of the up and coming technology on the Internet.
Links to My Favorite Sites
Another way to really get to know someone is to learn their
favorite sites on the Internet. Since I have so many lovebirds, I visit The Lovebird Information Center
frequently. This page has a lot of links to other lovebird resouces. The
yellow peach-faced lovebird at the top of the site looks exactly like my daddy
bird. My mommy bird is a teal green with a beautiful blue on her tail. All
their kids come out looking just like them. Another site to get great information
about all types of birds...not just lovebirds... is at Parrot Parrot
.
Another web site that is really fun for me is The FiddleNet . This site has all kinds of fiddle information and links to fiddle sites all over the world. There are links to old time fiddling, bluegrass, celtic, and more...and you can add your own site if you wish to. I really like cajun and zydeco type music and I stumbled across this great web page about an all-woman cajun dance band. Allow me to introduce you to Les Femmes d'Enfer , The Pacific Northwest's Only All-Gal Cajun Dance Band!! They look like an interesting bunch of women and I am really looking forward to hearing them perform. I like it that they are right here in the Northwest. I can't wait to get up to Seattle to see them!
I mentioned earlier that I like to do crosswords...if I can find the time... If you like to do crosswords, and you can find the time, it is really fun to play them at the New York Times site. Once you get there, click on crossword/games. You have to register, but it's quick, relatively painless, and it's free!
